The right method of surgical correction of pulmonary atresia is a one-stage radical correction. With good development of pulmonary vessels, closed VSD doesn't lead to high residual pressure in the RV and the development of severe circulatory failure. But in most cases there is an initial severity of the patient's condition caused by arterial hypoxemia, hypoplasia of the pulmonary artery system, the presence of various types of blood supply to the lungs and multiple collaterals. In this patients surgical tactics is ambiguous.

Alexander Lykov completed residentship for cardiovascular surgery in 2019 at the Bakulev Research Institute, Russian Federation. Later he worked at the same institute as a surgeon in the Unit of Neonatology surgery. He carried out research work on the theme of pulmonary arteries hypoplasia.
