Title: The Point-of-care testing methods in Cardiac diseases:current status with future directions.

Abstract

Point-of-care testing (POCT) is an emerging diagnostic tool that has overcome the problematic issue of delayed laboratory testing, particularly in regions lacking access to advanced laboratory equipment. With the increasing global prevalence of cardiac disease, the importance of POCT in diagnosis and management has grown tremendously. This technology for rapid detection of various cardiac markers is currently playing a significant influence in determining and subsequently treating cardiac-related conditions and ultimate prognosis. The main objective of POCT is to give early test results that enable immediate clinical decisions, thereby enhancing the patient's health outcomes. POCT diagnostics are also user-friendly devices utilized easily by healthcare professionals with fundamental basic training. This planned presentation will be on the currently available POCT testing’s, their role in major cardiac ailments with other methods and future directions.

Dr. Anshuman Darbari is Super-Specialist, Cardiothoracic surgeon with postdoctoral, degree in Cardio-thoracic surgery, M.Ch., ., Currently, serving as Additional professor, and Head of Cardio-thoracic surgery, department in All India Institute of Medical, science, AIIMS, Rishikesh, India since, November 2012. He has over 80, publications that have been cited over 30, times, and his publication h-index is 11, with 3 book chapters. He is peer reviewer, for twenty-five reputed international, journals and serving as editorial board, member of four international reputed, journals of Cardiovascular sciences.
